Landscapes

For me, landscapes are about more than just aesthetics. They offer a sense of escape, a boost to both physical and mental wellbeing, and often the chance to discover something unexpected. There’s also a quiet joy in the solitude they can provide.

Architecture

I'm not sure when my deep appreciation for architecture began, but it's become one of the main reasons I travel. While many are drawn to nature, food, or meeting new people, I’m captivated by buildings, whether historic, abandoned, or strikingly modern.

The Messeturm, or Trade Fair Tower, built in 1997, in Frankfurt, Germany, visited in August, 2024.

People

For me, travel is ultimately about the people, those you meet and those you observe. It’s often in the differences: how people dress, behave, celebrate, or simply go about their day. It’s in learning about their culture, or even just sharing a fleeting moment of laughter or connection.

Whilst most tourists flock to the Taj Mahal, Baby Taj is just as worthy of a visit. Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah is a Mughal mausoleum in the city of Agra, often described as a "jewel box", sometimes called the "Bachcha Taj" or the "Baby Taj". Rather than a hindrance, the colourful clothing of the local visitors provided a vibrant contrast. India, visited March 2024.

Featured photo

One of my favourite travel photos is of red and white smoke spilling across the sky behind the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi during Independence Day. I love the juxtaposition of two contrasting images that represent Georgia and its pride as an independent country, the past and present.
